A SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL OF MY STUDENTS!
Hello! I am so excited to get back to school. I can't wait to see everyone from last year and meet all of my new students!
A little about myself- Canastota is my hometown. I grew up here. I went to elementary, junior high and high school all at Canastota! I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. In fact, most of my childhood was spent "playing school" with my sister and her friends. It has always been a dream of mine to once return to Canastota and teach. After high school I received my Associates in Applied Science from State University of New York at Cobleskill. I transferred and received my Bachelors of Science at Plattsburgh State University. I stayed in Plattsburgh for another 2 years and received my Masters in Special Education. I am certified to teach grades K-12. I have been teaching for over 16 years but have been in the Canastota district for 14 years.
My family is very important to me! I live with my husband in town. We have been married since 2006. I have a son born November 1, 2011. His name is James Thomas, James after my husband and his grandfather, and Thomas after my father. We call him Jt. I also have a daughter born July 21, 2014. Her name is Jenna Rose, Jenna after me and Rose after my grandmother. My husband grew up in and works in Syracuse. My mom and dad live in Canastota. My mother is a hairdresser and my father is a farmer and has just recently retired. I have one sister, who lives in Syracuse, and works as a consultant/trainer for a company in Syracuse specializing in affordable housing. I have three nephews and two nieces.
