Meet Ms. Burnor

Some personal background information...
After graduating high school in Rome, I attended SUNY Cobleskill and received my A.A.S Degree in Animal Science. I then attended Penn State University for a year. (Go Penn State!!) I took some time off from schooling, married and had my daughter Loren. I decided to go back to school in my family profession...teaching( 4 of us are/were teachers!). I received my Bachelors Degree from SUNY Oswego in Agriculture Subjects Education. I did my student teaching At VVS high school and then moved to North Carolina due to my (ex)husbands Job change. I taught there for eight years at two different schools. I taught Earth Science, Physical Science and Agriculture Science. I also was a senior class advisor for two years at my first school and co-advised a 150 member FFA chapter at my second school for 3 years. During this time I had my sons William and Adam.

Missing family and not liking hurricanes, flooding, snakes etc. we moved back to New York and I the privilege to joined the Canastota High school staff. Upon returning I went back to school and received my M.A.S in Health Education.

Things I like to do on my free time...
I enjoy spending time with my fiance' and family and my two dogs. We love to fish, camp, boat, and kayak together and try to do as mush of those things as possible when we can. I also love to garden and spend time reading especially outdoors.

Canastota...
Canastota is very special to me. I have been proud to be a member of the "family" here for 15 years. I am currently the Freshman class advisor and also advise the Canastota FFA Chapter. I enjoy working with students and seeing them grow and become ready for their future and hope to do so for a long time.
