I grew up in the nearby town of Munnsville and attended Stockbridge Valley Central School for my K-12 education. Growing up in a small town helped me see the value of a close-knit community, which is one of the things that drew me to the Canastota Central School District.
After high school I went on to receive my bachelor's degree in English from SUNY Cortland and my master's degree in Adolescent Education from Utica College.
Prior to teaching 10th grade at Canastota, I taught 8th grade English at Otto Shortell Middle School, 9th grade English at Essex High School (in Virginia), Composition 101 at Morrisville State College, and grades 10-12 English at The Tilton School (The House of the Good Shepherd, Utica, NY).
I currently live in Oneida with my wife, two kids (Cate and Jack), and two dogs (Eloise and Oscar). In my free time I like to read, watch (and discuss) movies, binge-watch on Netflix, and spend time with friends and family.
