Scholarships

  • South Shore Association Environmental Education Assistance Program is pleased to offer an award to High School seniors entering Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Marine Biology, Science Education, Science Education, Veterinary Medicine, Water Resources or Wildlife Management. Any applicant must be registered as a full time student, carrying a minimum of twelve credit hours per semester, preferably at a college in New York State. Awards will be made each semester after the recipient provides documentation of continued studies. Awards will be in the amounts up to $1,500 per year. Application deadline is April 15, 2020.   • The CPCU Society of Syracuse has two scholarships available. One is open to seniors who are enrolling in the risk management program at SUNY Oswego, and the other one is open to all seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2020 as a full time student.   • Siena College is offering every admitted student who fills out the FAFSA with at least $52,000 in scholarships toward their degree. Please stop by the Guidance Office for more information.
  • The LeMoyne College CYO Scholarship is now available for any senior interested in attending LeMoyne College. Applications are in the Guidance Office.
  • The Lillian Slutzker Honors College at OCC is taking applications for the Fall of 2020.  To apply you must have a 90 or above overall average.  For more information please visit www.sunyocc.edu/honors or stop by the Guidance Office.  If selected students attend OCC tuition free and are granted a stipend to cover the cost of books.
  • Clarkson University has added a new scholarship that will cover all tuition costs for 10 students.  Please stop by the Guidance Office for more information.
  • Alfred State College has a scholarship opportunity for students interested in studying Agriculture. Students enrolling in their new program, Ag Automation and Robotics, may be eligible to receive up to $6,000 per year in gap funding and students in other Ag programs may be eligible to receive up to $3,000 per year in gap funding.   • Horatio Alger Association is offering scholarships to students who possess the character to succeed in life. To qualify students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college. To learn more and apply, visit www.scholars.horatioalger.org
  • PB&J Scholarship is for students who have experienced challenges in their life and who have to drive to succeed. It is open to all college-bound seniors who are attending accredited 2-year or 4-year college in the fall of 2020.   • National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association is offering three different scholarships. One at the State level of $250.00, One at the Sectional level of $1,500.00 and one at the National level of $2,500.00. The scholarships will recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student's life. Applicant must be a senior, have a minimum of a B+ average, ranked in the top 25% of their class and must have participated in two sports for at least two years each where they earned a varsity letter for each.   • Syracuse Track Club is offering two $1,000 scholarships to deserving male and female H.S. seniors who participate on their school's cross-country and/or track and field teams. Application deadline is May 1, 2020. Please stop by the Guidance Office for more information.
  • CNY STEM is offering scholarships to seniors who will be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Architecture.   • The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study. The deadline is October 5, 2020.   • Wace Scholarship Partner Institutions offers scholarships to high school seniors that apply to one of the nine partner institutions: Clarkson University, Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Merrimack College, R.I.T, SUNY Oswego, The University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati and Wentworth Institute of Technology. If you are applying to one of those colleges and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, stop by the Guidance Office for more information.  
  • Any graduating seniors that are interested in going to school for a trade may be eligible for a scholarship through Mike Rowe Works Foundation. Visit https://www.mikeroweworks.org/scholarship/ for more information.
  • Seniors: The Canastota Alumni Association has a fantastic scholarship opportunity. For a copy of the application please see Mr. Mengucci in the Guidance Office.
  • Seniors: Two scholarships are available to seniors who are planning on attending college in the fall. The first one is the Jensen Scholarship, which is available to a senior who has excelled in design in their high school career. The second scholarship is the Goncalves Scholarship, which is for a senior who demonstrates an involvement and work for a cause or organization that promotes social justice, equal opportunity, relief of human suffering or other aspiration generally understood to be within the meaning of humanitarian activity throughout high school.   • The Rick Lefevre Memorial Scholarship is open to any senior who either played hockey in the Rome Youth Hockey Association or was a figure skater in the Rome Figure Skating Program at the Kennedy Arena. For an application please stop by the Guidance Office.
  • The Firemen's Association of the State of New York has scholarships available for volunteer firefighters. If you are currently a senior planning on attending college and are a volunteer firefighter please stop by the Guidance Office for more information.
  • Any senior who is thinking about majoring in Education should stop by the Guidance Office to pick up an application for the Dr. Rossetti Scholarship.
