Coronavirus (COVID-19) information and links

COVID symptoms:
Fever of 100º F or higher
Cough (new or worsening)
Headache
Runny Nose
Congestion
Sore throat
Loss of taste or smell
Fatigue
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea

If your child is experiencing any of these symptoms in the morning, please do not send them to school.  You should keep them home and have them seen by a physician.  Due to the increase in cases and concurrent flu season, any student experiencing ANY of these symptoms will be instructed to be COVID tested.  Your child should remain at home until return of the test results.

Upon notification that your child is ill and has been tested, I will send an email to your child's teacher and administration informing them that your child will be working remotely until released to return to school.  Once I have received documentation that your child's test is negative, I will send a second email to the teachers and administration informing them that your child has been cleared to return to school and the date of return.

Acceptable documentation:
1. An MD note stating your child was seen and their COVID test was negative
2. Their negative COVID test results.

If your child is quarantined due to exposure, please forward me the email that will be sent to you via the Madison County Department of Health.  This form provides the quarantine release date that we will need to know when your child will return to school.

If your child tests positive and is isolated, please forward me the email of your child's isolation date when Madison County Department of Health has released them from isolation.

Remember that eating well, hydration, exercise, 8 hours of sleep per night, will help strengthen your immune system and help you get through this tough time!

I will be available for any questions or concerns you may have, feel free to email me at rgardinier@canastotacsd.org or call me at 315-697-6315.
