Coronavirus (COVID-19) information and links

Novel (new) Coronavirus (COVID-19) was first reported in Wuhan China in late 2019.  This respiratory virus is not the flu although it's symptoms are similar.
Symptoms of Coronavirus are:

Fever
Fatigue/tiredness
Dry cough
Shortness of breath
If you have nasal congestion, wet cough, body aches, and/or sore throat, it is more likely that it is influenza.

What to do if you or your child becomes ill:
1) Stay home unless it is an emergency such as difficulty breathing or loss of consciousness.
2) Self isolate the ill person in a separate room if able.
3) Wash your hands frequently if caring for the ill person.
4) Have the ill person wear a mask if able, if not, the caregiver should wear a mask when in the room caring for their loved one.
5) Care for someone with this virus is similar to influenza:
     A) Medication to reduce fever
     B) Cough etiquette (use tissue to cough or sneeze into and dispose of immediately, then wash hands or if tissue is not available, cough into elbow)
     C) Fluids and rest
6) If you feel you need to go to the ER, please contact you or your child's physician so that they can let the hospital know you are coming. DO NOT use public transportation or Uber.
Frequent handwashing, avoiding public places, and social distancing are your best weapon against the spread of Coronavirus.

Remember that eating well, exercise, 8 hours of sleep per night, and good hydration will help strengthen your immune system and help you get through this tough time!
